Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to register to enter a competition?

Yes. You need to be fully registered on the Ansum Wins Limited website to enter any of our competitions. Creating an account is quick and easy – simply go to ‘Account’ and fill in your details.

Registration is required to ensure that you reside in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) and that you are over 18 years of age. You must register using up-to-date contact details, including an active email address. This means that we can contact you if you are one of our lucky Ansum winners.

Is there a minimum age to enter?

Yes. All entrants must be aged 18 years or older to participate.

Who is eligible to enter?

Competitions are only open to residents of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) who are aged 18 years or older and are not:

  • A relative, employee or supplier of Ansum Wins Limited, or
  • A relative or employee of any of our suppliers

We cannot accept entries from anyone living outside of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) as our competitions are organised to comply with the laws of England and Wales.

By registering with us, you confirm that you are eligible to enter our competitions. If you are found to be ineligible after you have registered with us, we reserve the right to disqualify you from any competition including those you have already entered. Your entries will be withdrawn but you will still be charged.

If you are unsure about whether you are eligible to enter our competitions, please contact us on info@ansumwins.co.uk to confirm your eligibility before creating an account.

How do I enter a competition?

Entering one of our competitions is easy and straightforward. After creating an account (please see FAQ ‘Do I need to register to enter a competition?’ for details), you can browse our range of live competitions and click on the competition you wish to enter. Some competitions require you to answer a qualifying question correctly. Simply select or type your answer (if applicable) and choose the number of entries you wish to purchase. Add this to your basket and checkout to pay the entry fee before the closing date.

Once you have paid your entry fee, you will receive an email to your registered email address confirming whether you have answered the question correctly and if you have been entered into the draw. If your answer is correct, all of your correct entries will be entered into the draw.

You will not be entered into a competition draw but you will still be charged if you:

  • Do not answer the competition question correctly
  • Enter after the competition’s closing date
  • Are disqualified from the competition (please see Competition Terms and Conditions for details)

Can I enter for free?

Yes, you can enter for free by post. You can find full details on how to enter by post by viewing the competition you wish to enter or by reading our Competition Terms and Conditions.

How long is a competition open for?

The opening and closing date is stated in the details of each competition. If we have to change either of these dates for any reason, we will update the website accordingly. We will only change the dates if we have to for reasons outside of our control.

Are there any limits to the number of entries I can purchase?

To make it fun and fair for all players, every competition has a cap on the number of times an individual player can enter it. The maximum number of individual entries vary by competition, and you can find full details for each live competition any time on the website. The number of entries does not refer to the number of attempts you have to answer the qualifying question.

Please note that each competition is also limited to a maximum number of overall entries. For example, a competition may be restricted to 200 entries, with an individual entry cap of 5. If any competition reaches the maximum number of overall entries before the closing date, the competition will be closed, and subsequently your individual number of entries may be limited.

For competitions that require a qualifying question, what happens if I answer the question wrong?

Whilst this may be disappointing, you have to remember that this is a competition and we have deliberately made the question tough to comply with the law. (See more on this below)

If you get the question wrong, you will not be entered into the draw so you will not have the chance to win the prize. You will not be entitled to a refund of your entry fees. If you want to, you can try again.

For competitions that require a qualifying question, why is the question so hard?

This is not a lottery or a free prize draw. It is a prize competition and the law says that to be in with a chance of winning, you must demonstrate your skill, knowledge or judgement.

The law says that the question should be sufficiently difficult that a significant number of people either get the answer wrong or are put off entering. However, this means that the odds of winning are actually increased for those who get the answer correct.

Can I try again?

You can enter the competition as many times as you wish up to any limit we specify. Your entries may be restricted if we reach the maximum number of entries.

Whilst this isn’t gambling, we still urge you to keep this fun and not spend more than you can afford.

What are my chances of winning?

The maximum number of entries is stated on each competition so your chances of winning will vary from competition to competition. As an example, if entries are capped at a maximum of 3000, this means that if you purchase 1 entry and get the answer correct, your chances of winning will be no worse than 1 in 3,000.

You can increase your chances of winning by purchasing more entries. For example, if you purchase 10 entries in the example above and you get the answer correct, your chances of winning will be no worse than 1 in 300.

We say "no worse than" because we expect a significant number of people to get the answer to the question wrong. We cannot predict how many this will be but say 500 people got the answer wrong and they each purchased 1 entry each. Your chances of winning with a single correct entry will now improve to 1 in 2,500.

My email confirmation hasn’t arrived, what do I do?

It may take up to 24 hours for your confirmation email to arrive. Please check your spam and junk folders first. If you have still not received anything after this time, please contact us at info@ansumwins.co.uk.

Can I get a refund of my entry fee?

We do not offer refunds of entry fees if you get the answer to the question wrong, or if you are disqualified from the competition for any reason.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept payment by credit or debit card, PayPal or Google Pay.

What kind of prizes could I win?

Ansum Wins Limited prizes are hand-picked with you in mind. We believe in offering unmissable prizes that you can use and enjoy. For this reason, our prizes are often chosen from your favourite brands.

All prizes are fully described on the website and vary by competition. Simply click on a competition that you would like to enter to discover more about the prize that you could win.

In exceptional circumstances, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of an equal or higher value to winners if the advertised prize is unavailable.

Is there a cash alternative?

No. As detailed in our Competition Terms and Conditions, we do not offer cash alternatives to prizes.

How do you pick the winner?

You will be entered into the competition draw only if you have answered the qualifying question correctly. The winner will be chosen at random from all the correct entries using random generator software.

How do I know if I am an Ansum winner?

If you are one of our Ansum winners, we will contact you using the details you provided during registration within 7 days of the competition’s closing date. Please inform us of any changes to your contact details as soon as possible before the closing date.

In the event that we cannot reach you within 14 days of the competition’s closing date, we reserve the right to select another winner which means that you will lose your right to claim the prize.

If I win, do I have to participate in promotional exercises?

No, this is not compulsory. However, with your permission, we would love to share your excitement on our website and social media pages.

Even if you do not want to participate in any promotional exercises, we may have to provide your details to the Advertising Standards Authority to prove we have administered the competition and awarded the prize fairly.

Do I need to pay for delivery if I am a winner?

No. We will never ask our Ansum winners to pay delivery charges for prizes.

If I win, can I gift or sell my prize to someone else?

Once a winner has taken delivery of their prize from Ansum Wins Limited, or a representative that is chosen to deliver on our behalf, they can do whatever they wish with their prize.

How do you use my personal data?
